VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT - KAT HORT
Thank you to all who have taken time to volunteer for one or all of the MMCF sponsored events! We are so grateful for everyone and it is a true joy to meet and get to know each and everyone of you!
MMCF would like to say a special thank you to Kat Hort for all her time and hard work she puts in with our events! We are so happy to introduce Kat, as she has been a super supporter of MMCF! Kat travels from Southern California just about each weekend so her two boys can ski with MMSST. While she spends a lot of time in the car, Kat carved out some time to spend with us and chat about why she volunteers with MMCF.
Why do you volunteer at MMCF?
I volunteer for the foundation because MMCF does such a great job of giving back to the local communities through financial funding and grants for youth academics and athletics.
How did you find out about MMCF and the opportunity to volunteer?:
Through Mammoth Ski and Snowboard Team and from the Mammoth website.
What is it about volunteering for MMCF that keeps you coming back?
I enjoy helping the organization prepare for the many big events, Mammoth Invitational, Wine Weekend and Mammoth Gran Fondo. I get to see other ski team parents, make new friends, and get to see how the events run behind the scenes! Plus, I know I am helping the community.
What is a favorite memory from volunteering at one of the MMCF events?
My favorite memory was helping at the MMCF tent at the Mammoth Gran Fondo and seeing the happy and delighted faces of the cyclists after they completed their ride. And as part of the California Pass Challenge and we got to give them their signature gift.
What makes you smile when you’re in Mammoth?
Seeing the new soft snow coverage on the slopes puts a smile on my face!
